Privacy Policy

Like any website, when you open a page your browser sends technical information to the servers that deliver it — such as your IP address, browser type and version, device and operating system, the page requested, and the date and time of the request. This is handled by our hosting and database providers as part of serving the site, keeping it available, and protecting it from abuse.

We do not use this information to build a profile of you, and we do not try to identify individual visitors from it.

To make the site more useful, your browser saves two small lists locally using browser storage:

• Recently searched — the search terms you have typed recently, so they can be offered back to you.
• Recently viewed — the products you have opened recently, so they can be shown on the home page.

This information stays in your browser. It is not sent to us, not stored on our servers, and not shared with anyone. You can remove it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this website.

Search terms are used to look up matching products at the moment you search. We do not keep a server-side log of what individual visitors search for. The "popular searches" shown on the home page are chosen manually by our team — they are not generated from visitor search history.

• We do not run an analytics or visitor-tracking tool on this site.
• We do not use advertising or third-party tracking pixels.
• We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.
• We do not build advertising or behavioural profiles about visitors.

If this changes in future — for example if we add an analytics tool — we will update this page before or at the time the change takes effect.

This site does not use cookies for analytics, advertising, or tracking. Cookies and equivalent browser storage are used only where they are needed for the site to work: the local lists described above, and a session cookie for team members who sign in to the internal review area.

When you email us or send a product suggestion, we receive whatever you choose to include — typically your name or contact details, the product or brand you are writing about, and any links or information you provide. We use it to reply to you, to review the product, and to keep a record of how a listing decision was made.

Please do not send us health information, identification documents, or other sensitive personal details. We do not need them and do not ask for them.

Product submission features are not yet open on the site. When they are, this section will be updated to describe exactly what those forms collect.

There are no public user accounts on Nontox today. Sign-in exists only for our own team so reviewers can manage listings. For those accounts we hold an email address and authentication data through our backend provider.

If we offer a community space — for example a Discord server — it runs on that provider's platform, not on this website. Anything you post or share there is handled under that provider's own privacy policy and terms, and is visible to other participants. We would see the content you post and your account name on that platform.

We rely on third-party providers to host the website, store the product database, and deliver email. These providers process information on our behalf and only as needed to provide their service. We do not give them permission to use it for their own marketing.

Messages and product submissions are kept for as long as they are useful for reviewing and maintaining listings, and for keeping a reasonable record of our decisions. Technical server records are kept for a short period as part of normal hosting operations. Locally stored lists remain in your browser until you clear them.

We are still finalising specific retention periods and will state them here once they are set.

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, including limiting internal access to team members who need it. No website or service can promise perfect security, and we do not claim to.

Nontox is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will remove it.

You can clear locally stored search and view history from your browser at any time. If you have contacted us or sent a submission, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live, local data protection law may give you further rights, and we will handle requests in line with the law that applies to you.

We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Continuing to use the site after an update means the revised policy applies.
