Nontox is a product discovery and evaluation platform. We research everyday products, apply our own evaluation framework — the Nontox Standard — and publish the products that meet it, along with information about them.

To be clear about what we are not:

• We do not manufacture, formulate, package, distribute, or physically handle any listed product.
• We generally do not sell products. Purchases take place with third-party brands or retailers, on their own websites and under their own terms.
• We are not a medical or healthcare provider, a regulator, a testing laboratory, a manufacturer, or a certification authority.
• We do not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, or individualised medical advice. Nothing on this site is a substitute for advice from a qualified professional.

If you have allergies, a health condition, are pregnant or nursing, or take medication, speak to a qualified professional before using any product.

The Nontox Standard is our own evaluation framework. It is not a government certification, an accreditation, a regulatory approval, or a guarantee of absolute safety.

When we evaluate a product, we consider factors such as:

• the hazards associated with its ingredients and materials;
• expected human exposure;
• the route and duration of that exposure;
• vulnerable populations;
• the strength of the scientific evidence available to us;
• precautionary considerations;
• formulation and material context.

Under the precautionary part of the Standard, we may exclude an ingredient or material where credible lower-concern alternatives are reasonably available, even where existing evidence does not establish that it causes harm at typical exposure levels. That is a deliberate editorial choice to reduce avoidable exposure — it is not a finding that the excluded material is unsafe.

We may change the Standard over time as evidence, materials, and our own thinking develop.

A product appearing on Nontox means that, based on the information and evidence available to us at the time of review, it met the Nontox Standard.

A listing is not a guarantee or promise that a product:

• is risk-free or free from all substances of concern;
• is medically safe for you, or safe in your particular circumstances;
• will be effective, or effective for every person;
• is authentic as sold by any particular seller;
• is currently available, in stock, or offered at any particular price;
• is suitable for every individual, skin type, age group, or health condition.

You remain responsible for deciding whether a product is right for you.

Products change. Formulas, materials, manufacturers, packaging, sourcing, suppliers, and product names can all change, sometimes without public notice. New information can also emerge after a review.

Because of this, we may update, correct, suspend, re-review, or remove any listing at any time. We cannot guarantee that all information on the site is current, complete, or free from error, and you should always check the packaging and ingredient list in front of you before use.

Claims made by a brand about its own products are that brand's claims — publishing a listing does not mean we adopt, endorse, or guarantee them. We rely on information provided by brands and on publicly available sources. Unless we specifically state otherwise for a given product, we do not independently laboratory-test every listed product and we do not independently verify every part of a brand's supply chain.

The site links to brand and retailer websites. We do not own or control those sites, and we are not responsible for their products, pricing, availability, ordering, payment, shipping, returns, warranties, customer service, privacy practices, or any other part of their policies or conduct.

Any purchase you make is a contract between you and that third party. Please read their terms and policies before buying. We do not currently use affiliate or commission links; if that changes, we will disclose it clearly.

You may be able to send us product suggestions, corrections, feedback, or other content. When you do:

• Sending a submission does not guarantee that it will be published, listed, reviewed within any timeframe, or acted on at all.
• You must not submit anything unlawful, fraudulent, misleading, defamatory, abusive, harassing, or infringing on someone else's rights, and you must have the right to send us what you send.
• You keep ownership of what you submit. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, store, reproduce, adapt, and publish that content for the purposes of operating, improving, evaluating, and promoting Nontox.
• This licence covers the content of your submission. Personal information you send us is handled under our Privacy Policy, not claimed as our property.
• We may edit, decline, or remove any submission at our discretion.

We may run a community space, such as a Discord server, where people can discuss products, suggest products for consideration, discuss or propose changes to the Nontox Standard, share tips and experiences, and connect with others.

Content posted by community members is not verified, reviewed, or endorsed by Nontox, and should not be treated as our evaluation or advice. Members are responsible for what they post. We may remove content, restrict participation, or end access where the community rules or these terms are not followed. Community spaces hosted on third-party platforms are also governed by that platform's own terms and policies.

When using Nontox, please do not:

• scrape, harvest, or bulk-extract listings, evaluations, or the block list, or republish them as your own;
• present a Nontox listing as a certification, endorsement, approval, or safety guarantee, or otherwise misrepresent our evaluations;
• interfere with the site, attempt to gain unauthorised access, or use it in a way that disrupts it for others;
• use the site for any unlawful purpose.

Brands are welcome to reference a Nontox listing accurately and to link to the relevant page.

The Nontox name and logo, the text of the Nontox Standard, our evaluations, written descriptions, page copy, layout, and original imagery belong to us or our licensors. You may read, share, and link to our pages for personal and non-commercial purposes. You may not copy or reuse substantial parts of the site commercially without our permission.

Brand names, product names, packaging images, and logos belong to their respective owners and are shown for identification and reference.

The site and its content are provided for general information on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we take our evaluations seriously and aim to be accurate, we do not promise that the site will always be available, error-free, complete, or up to date.

Nothing on this site is medical, health, legal, or professional advice, and it should not be relied on as such.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of the site or your reliance on its content, including in relation to products you buy from third parties, changes to product formulas or materials, information that has become out of date, or the conduct of any brand, retailer, or other third party.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Where liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, it is limited to the minimum extent permitted by law.

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the site, including listings and features, at any time. We may also update these terms; the date at the top shows when they were last revised, and continuing to use the site after an update means the revised terms apply.

We may restrict or end access for anyone who breaches these terms or misuses the site.

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the courts of Malaysia have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from your use of the site. If you use the site from elsewhere, you are responsible for complying with your own local laws, and any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live are unaffected.
